Okay, since, I have to admit, you are a communit full of great dudes, lads, mates n scheisse... ye I have a serious question... how and why is my FPS so low on SA-MP sometimes?

Okay, so... I installed 0.3x, I had mods, skins and all that... my FPS was terrible sometimes, it would drop to 8 sometimes on a server which has a lot of mapping, in an area that is all custom mapped in detail... anyway I deleted my mods, I didn't even get a single FPS up, everything was as laggy as before... then I reinstalled my entire GTA SA and SA-MP. Same... nothing had changed... this has been happening ever since I reinstalled my SA, installed 0.3x.

I really don't know why my GTA SA SP works fluently and on SA-MP, when I am alone on a non-mapped area I get 29-37 FPS, on SP I get 40+, and when I am near large group of players it goes down to 23 or 17, near a custom mapped area it can go as low as 8, usually between 10-17... which is bad.

Is there any fix to this? The only thing I found to be working, and it would only increase FPS by 5 frames, it is custom, low-res water texture... and perhaps effects as well. And nothing else has helped... the fact is, doesn't matter how many mods I add it doesn't lower my FPS, which is odd.

I have 2 PCs, Dual Core and Pentium 4, I've been playing SA-MP on this Pentium 4 for so many years without any lag-relates issues and I also deleted SA-MP and SA from my Dual Core PC, I'm playing other, newer games there, anyway, all my SA-MP and GTA SA custom things are here... it's too much of a bother to transfer it all to another PC, I'm not doing that... yeh, this Pentium 4 has 2GB RAM, my Dual Core has 4GB; that's about specs - Dual Core has FPS up to 90 if I'm not wrong...

So, ye... I am not the only guy with this problem... everyone with a little bit lower-end PC has the exact same issue with identical results.

Thanks in advance for helping out!

Even though i have a higher computer than that, i have a problem with samp too. Here's the laptop's specs :

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz
8,00 GB ram
Nvidia GeForce GT 650M 2048 MB DDR3 Directx 11

And the result ? highest fps i can get in samp is 65. Usually at around 50. 30 while frapsing. Other games ? There isn't even a single problem about the others, currently there isn't a game that this laptop can't play at moderate graphics. But the only problem i got is the fps in samp.

Before my dad had bought me this laptop, i had a desktop with moderate capabilities (core 2 duo @2.40GHz + 3 gb ram + 1 gb ATI HD 4650), and i could play samp with MINIMUM 95.

I just started to think that i have an out-dated driver of the graphics card. Perhaps you need to update your graphics card driver&chipset.

Could be... but this seems to be only the case with SA-MP, of course, I can't play modern games on this PC, but sure SP of GTA SA works fine and I can play Source games without any particular issues.

PC #1:
  • Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3.
  • Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz (2 CPUs).
  • Memory: 2GB.
  • Graphics Card: ATI Radeon X1600/X1650 Series.
  • Display Memory: 256.0MB.

PC #2:
  • Operating System: Windows 7 Enterprise.
  • Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 245 Processor, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.9GHz.
  • Memory: 4GB RAM.
  • Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series.
  • Display Memory: 512.0MB.

PC #1 is the one that has such issues, PC #2 doesn't... well... on some heavily mapped areas it can drop down to 35 for few seconds... anyway, it's obviously something to do with SA-MP because on SA-MP forums I asked about this, and we all were banging our heads against the wall because obviously my PC #1 is more than capable of running GTA SA and SA-MP itself.

Weird, odd and strange...

PC #1 = Lower Display Memory
PC #2 = Higher one.

You can't avoid FPS Drops on heavily visted / mapped areas it's just an issue with dumb server owners.
Also you need to have a good display memory I on a XFX 6870 Black Edition dont have such low fps drop's and I also dont mod the game.

GTA:SA is old so it's engine you can have a good pc but if the engine does that work not good you're fucked.
