You can create lots of types of trainers in VB.NET
Check my posts, I've released few trainers, a weapon hack and even a very simple airbreak. I think you could do the whole s0beit functionality, it would require some knowledge of s0bs source (c++) and how some things are made.
It's a good language if you want to start, but its reall basic language and pretty high level (it doesn't mean its hard)
I've started with it, but now I switched to c++ and pawn, I have basically stopped releasing any cheats.
